WKAR-TV, broadcasting on channel 23, is mid-Michigan's Public Television station. The station produces numerous programs about state and local issues and broadcasts a diverse schedule of programs from PBS and other sources. AM 870 WKAR, broadcasting at 870 KHz, is the area's news and information station with local and national programs, including those from National Public Radio (NPR). 90.5 WKAR, broadcasting at 90.5 MHz, provides classical, jazz and folk music and "Morning Edition" and "All Things Considered" from NPR.
