On August 5, 1970 WVXU began broadcasting from Xavier University. On August 22, 2005 WVXU joined with WGUC and became Cincinnati Public Radio. WVXU presents a variety of news and information programs during the week focusing on local, national and international events. Evenings and weekends feature classic radio shows, BBC world news, and music programs showcasing blues, swing and jazz.
