YOUR MEMBERCARD, HIGH GAS PRICES AND SEASONAL TRAVEL
Snowbirds love to travel south with their
MemberCards....
______________________________________________________________
With this tip, we're probably telling you something you already
know...an increase in the price of gas means an increase in demand for the
MemberCard and the savings it provides.
We've heard from many stations that MemberCard calls are up in
times like these. At MBI, we see a pick-up in orders for TravelCards along
with a big increase in the number of station members visiting
membercard.com looking for more savings benefits.
The increase in demand for MemberCard savings can give a a real
boost to your membership fundraising efforts. The MemberCard saves
money where members need it most: to offset higher gas prices.
Making the case that station membership offers a great return on
the investment is more compelling than ever! Here are some ideas:
During membership drives and with interstitial spots, address the
issue directly. Point out how most people pay for gas, dinner out, a
show and travel, all out of the same gas & entertainment dollar.
With the MemberCard, members can get more fun from each gas &
entertainment dollar they spend.
In renewal mail this makes the perfect P.S.: "With gas prices going
up, keep dining and entertainment expenses going down: renew today at
the $$ level to get your new WMBI MemberCard with its multitude of
2-for-1 savings."
The same goes for telemarketing. The enhanced value of the
MemberCard under today's conditions brings a fresh element to the script
and can be especially helpful with the close.
Whenever you can, promote the TravelCard privileges, especially
if you are in a snowbird state . For anyone traveling by car, saving
on dining and B&Bs can pay for the higher gas prices in the first
day of a trip!
This is also ideal for web solicitations. A well-positioned banner
link with copy like: High gas prices got you down? WMBI members
receive 2-for-1 savings on dining and more.
There are many more MemberCard strategies, ideas and tons of station
samples available in the MemberCard User's Manual. If yours is missing or
you'd like our help with measuring results, simply call Sue
