The 4 Keys to MemberCard Success
#1 -- Benefit versus premium
#2 -- Benefit preferences
#3 -- Promotion and marketing
#4 -- Measure results
______________________________________________________________
This month's MemberCard Tip focuses on the third of four keys to
improve membership results with the help of your MemberCard program.
Key #3: Promotion is the key to the success of your MemberCard
program!
Promoting programming is so important because it leads to bigger
audiences. With bigger audiences, you can increase revenue from both
membership and underwriting.
Promoting member benefits is also important and for similar reasons:
members using their benefits more, leads to a bigger base of loyal
members. With a more loyal member base, you can increase revenue from both
membership renewals, upgrades and adgifts.
Here are some great ways to promote MemberCard benefits in order to
retain more members and increase revenue:
- On-Air promotion: Using your airwaves to promote benefits
will increase response to mail, telemarketing and drives, as well as
increase MemberCard usage. View
examples of on-air spots.
- Buckslips: Use MBI's camera-ready buckslips to further
increase response to mail. View
a sample of MBI-designed buckslip.
- Website promotion: It's all about making it easy to find
MemberCard benefits within your website, starting with the MemberCard
positioning on your home page. View
samples of station websites.
- E-Newsletters: Another great way to remind members of their
valuable MemberCard benefits and update them on the latest additions. Click
here for a great example!
- MemberCard.com: Your home page at MemberCard.com offers several ways
for your members to view restaurant and other benefit listings, sign up
for travel cards across the nation and into Canada, email us with their
suggestions and comments, sign up for weekly benefit alerts.
- Program Guide Ads / Outside Publication Ads: MBI is your
full-service MemberCard marketing resource. We provide camera-ready
artwork for anything you need to promote your station's MemberCard.
Great examples of all these ideas and many more are available in the
MemberCard User's Manual. Don't have one? Simply call Suzanne Maciejowski
at 800-423-7645 ext. 11 or email her at suzanne@membercard.com and she
will get a User's Manual right out to you!
Stay tuned for one more Key to MemberCard Success next month!
