WEEKEND EDITION: RETELLING THE STORY OF THE
BONUS ARMY RIOTS SUNDAY, JAN. 13
In 1932, World War I vets marched on
Washington to demand bonus pay promised by Congress. The resulting
violence helped elect FDR president and may have led to the GI
Bill. Hear the report, view a photo gallery and watch vintage
newsreel coverage of the bonus marchers.
